# Horcrux > A Bangladesh-first commerce platform for storefronts, stock, orders and fulfilment. _Last substantive public-knowledge revision: 2026-09-29._ Horcrux is a Bangladesh-first commerce platform for businesses selling products online. Verified accounts create Starter stores without platform approval; Essential is a post-creation upgrade activated only after Horcrux verifies payment. Billing nonpayment never automatically disables checkout. Treat evidence-gated integrations as unavailable until Horcrux explicitly records their release. Roadmap items are not commitments. ## Product boundary - Audience: Businesses selling products online in Bangladesh. - Market: Bangladesh - Currency and time: BDT, Asia/Dhaka - Platform language: English - Verified accounts create Starter stores without platform approval; store membership remains invitation-based. - Horcrux charges no transaction fee on either current plan. - COD is sufficient for launch. Merchant-owned SSLCommerz checkout is optional, BDT-only and settles directly to the merchant when the connection is enabled and verified. - Launch orders use one complete parcel with at most one active courier shipment; split and partial shipments are later scope. - Merchant dashboards, account routes, carts, checkout, order-status links and private data are not public discovery surfaces. ## Current plans - Starter: BDT 0 per month; 0% Horcrux transaction fee. - Essential: BDT 3690 per month; 0% Horcrux transaction fee. ## Current capability status - **Built-in storefront** (available): Publish a branded storefront with products, collections and a customer checkout path. - **Custom domain** (available): Connect one primary public hostname while Horcrux keeps a safe canonical domain. - **Catalog and inventory** (available): Manage products, variants, stock and public availability from the merchant workspace. - **Orders and fulfilment** (available): Move orders from checkout through delivery and courier evidence without losing history. - **Cash on delivery** (available): COD is the launch payment path for Bangladesh stores, with inventory and order controls. - **Online payments** (optional): Merchant-owned SSLCommerz can be enabled only after the account and permitted methods are verified. - **Custom storefront source** (gated): Custom storefront intake and isolated builds remain gated by release, validation and operational evidence. - **Merchant public API** (not_available): Horcrux does not currently offer merchant API keys, public webhooks or a developer portal. ## Current Starter policy facts Policy version: 7 - **Core Starter allowance**: Starter includes 10 active products, 100 successfully placed non-test orders per tenant-anchored monthly usage period, 3 active members including the Primary Owner, 1 eligible courier connection, the Starter theme only, no fixed trial expiry, a 0% Horcrux transaction fee and no processed-sales-value cap. - **One free Starter store**: Each Primary Owner/business may have one active, transacting free Starter store. Paid stores and memberships in another merchant's store do not consume that allowance, and recreation, transfer, downgrade, reactivation or plan cycling cannot multiply it. - **Retained media**: Starter retains exactly 1,000,000,000 bytes (1 GB decimal) of merchant media. At capacity, only quota-increasing uploads are blocked; existing media, records, checkout and exports remain available. - **Image uploads**: Starter permits 100 successful original-image uploads or replacements per monthly period, plus a one-time 100-upload first-period bonus: 200 in the genuine first period, then 100 with no rollover. Deletion does not refund usage, and a replacement counts as a new operation. - **One-time order growth buffer**: The first eligible business to reach the normal 100-order limit receives a one-time buffer of up to 50 extra orders in that same period. The buffer is not a recurring 150-order plan, unused orders expire at period end and later periods return to 100. - **Basic email support**: Starter includes basic, non-priority email help for setup blockers and product problems through horcrux@dropoutstudio.co. It excludes done-for-you setup, customization, scheduled calls, dedicated onboarding or account management, guaranteed response or resolution times and 24/7 staffing; critical incidents are triaged by severity. - **Reversible inactivity pause**: A Starter storefront may enter a reversible inactivity pause after 180 consecutive days without meaningful authenticated, store-specific activity or a new order, only after at least 30 days' advance notice and after unresolved commerce obligations are clear. Activity resets the clock; records, media, dashboard, exports and required after-sales access remain available. - **Expensive-operation protection**: Expensive optional operations use scoped abuse and cost protections, bounded retries and deduplication. These controls are not billing caps and do not reduce ordinary selling, checkout, security, transactional notices or exports. - **Notice and future review**: Affected existing merchants receive at least 30 days' notice before new restrictive commercial rules, with versioned notice and effective dates. Production notice and migration completion are not claimed here.
